Without linking tables, your restaurant will only be able to accept Reservations and Jump In Line parties up to the largest single table size available. Also, Hosts will only be able to onboard Waitlist and Reservation parties up to the largest single table size available. Store Managers and Admins can override and accept a party without a table assignment, but will have to manually select the tables where the party is to be seated to avoid an overbooking situation (party without a table at their expected time of seating).
To create “larger tables” to accommodate these parties, click on Settings, Dining Room and then Links. To link tables together, click on the white “Add New” button, then click the tables you want to designate as “joinable” or “linkable” to create the "larger table". Those tables will turn blue upon selection.
Each larger table has a minimum and maximum seating capacity that can be adjusted by using the "-" and "+" buttons at the top left corner. This feature can be used to increase the size of a larger table if "leafs" are available or if the tables have "wings".
When finished selecting the tables, click on the blue save button in the lower left corner.
The linked dining tables will appear in a list in the upper left corner from smallest to largest. The user can also click the "Order by priority" box to align the tables in the order of seating preference.
To Edit or Delete the linked table, click on the “pencil icon”. The user can adjust the size as well as add or remove tables. Delete the linked table by clicking on the red garbage can icon while in edit mode.
To save all changes, click the blue "Save" button at the bottom left corner. It is a good practice to save after every change, addition or deletion to Linked Dining Tables.
