The default number of reservations that can be taken each hour is determined by the number of tables that are set to accept reservations in the Dining Room Layout, as designated by a green book icon.
Note: ANY table designated as accepting reservations is considered "available" for Seatninja Host to assign as a suggested table assignment. This is important as the user, on the day of reservations, must review the scheduled reservations and their assigned tables to make sure that they are assigned in alignment with the servers assigned to tables for that day.
Note: Users may move reservations from the system suggested table assignment to a different table(s), without regard to whether or not that table(s) is designated for accepting reservations.
To override the default settings and have more or fewer tables available for reservations, click on Settings, then Dining Room, then Overrides. Overrides can be set for a Standard recurring day of the week or for a Special Day or Holiday.
- To create an Standard override, click on the “Add” box under Standard Dining Table Overrides, choose the day using the box under Day of Week, set each table’s “Book Icon” to either green (accepts reservations) or red (does not accept reservations). Count the tables when complete. This is how many reservations that will be available each hour for Hosts and online/mobile app booking. When satisfied, click on the blue “Add” button at the bottom left. To change this override, click the “Edit” button. To delete it, click the red trash can icon.
- To create a Special Day override, click on the “Add” button, then choose your date by clicking on the day in the box. A calendar will drop down to allow you to select a date. Once the day is selected, click on each table’s “Book Icon” to either green (accepts reservations) or red (does not accept reservations). Count the tables when complete. This is how many reservations you will accept each hour. When satisfied, click on the blue “Add” button at the bottom left. To change this override, click the “Edit” button. To delete it, click the red trash can icon.
